put the SCSI drive in the i86 box, tar -xzf the base tarball.

ext2 is ext2; I've done this on i86, alpha and powerpc.

You will have to mess with some scripts, uninstalled.sh, if my memory
serves me, in /sbin.

When you are done, you will still have a multia.
