I got the same problem:
bootp and tftp running good, transfering the
tftpboot.img and then something with
switching to PAL-code and
init-rd
-> maschine resets.
The Hardware:
DEC Multia (with 1 PCI-Slot), according to alphalinux.org
this is AXPpci33
233Mhz with 88MB RAM
SRM Console BL5 V3.8-1 Jun 22
OSF PALcode X1.35-67
Floppy is broken, got no Scsi-CDROM, so
Netinstall is the only option (or NetBSD).
Any hints ?
thx,
Thomas
