nmap again

Before i go take it up with the nmap developers, i though i should take it up with you folks and find out if any has built and sucessfully run nmap on their alpha.

so far what i have, compiles cleanly, but it blows up with Failed to find interface <either eth0 or ppp0 depending on what i try to nmap> mentioned in /proc/net/route

anyway, i'm running kernel 2.2.11 and glibc 2.1.1 (though 2.0.7 didn't work either), newest net-tools, etc.

PS: debian guys, your nmap 2.12 .deb from potato doesn't even work.
