Consultant's Perspective: Mandrake Single Network Firewall.
"Yesterday was an eventful day for me. As a security consultant, my
services have been retained by my client to setup a firewall to
protect my client's office network against potential external hackers.
Guess what? I installed Mandrake's Single Network Firewall for my
client. That is a distribution released by Mandrake just weeks ago."

Business Case of the Week
----------------------------------------
Services: Hotel Jan III Sobieski.
The Jan III Sobieski Hotel is one of the biggest, most luxurious and
prestigious hotel facilities in Poland. The hotel offers a wide variety
of services ranging from suite rentals, restaurants and hosting
conferences. They use Mandrake Linux for their POS workstations,
servers and office PCs. "The implementation was one of the few stories
of success in the Polish computer industry. I would rather not
make any references to major system failures experienced by large
companies, but we tried to steer clear of the common errors."

New feature in Cooker! Now it's possible to use USB network adapters to
perform installations.
A new boot image, called usbnet.img, supports USB Controllers and common
USB Network Adapters. This is a cool feature, especially
considering new batches of laptops without pcmcia extensions, and
because most if not all today's computers have USB connectivity.

First 1000 Articles.
Time to celebrate -- this is MandrakeForum article number 1000! More
than 4000 registered users, 125,315 visitors last month, 1000
stories and 14,000 comments so far... Still, there is room for
improvement. If you would like to help, there is a lot of work to do:
from
coding to translating, down to the most obvious one: simply stating what
you see as most urgent problems on MandrakeForum, so that
we know what to solve first.
