So, the problem is only with KDE? And not any other WM? How about other
input devices like the mouse?

Somehow, we got stale NFS handles @ kenobi as well.

Yep, but that's only because we don't have a proper installer for the Alpha
platform yet ... in particlar, we need a BOOT kernel.
