Hey all;
I've got a TZ87 tape drive hooked up to my AS200. I'm trying to backup
to it using dump but am having a little problem. Here is what happens:
mustang:~# dump 0udsf 62500 301292 /dev/st0 /
DUMP: Date of this level 0 dump: Mon Jan 17 22:27:54 2000
DUMP: Date of last level 0 dump: the epoch
DUMP: Dumping /dev/sda8 (/) to /dev/st0
DUMP: Label: none
DUMP: mapping (Pass I) [regular files]
DUMP: mapping (Pass II) [directories]
DUMP: estimated 802562 tape blocks on 0.01 tape(s).
DUMP: Volume 1 started at: Mon Jan 17 22:28:07 2000
DUMP: dumping (Pass III) [directories]
DUMP: write error 4352 blocks into volume 1
DUMP: Do you want to restart?: ("yes" or "no") no
DUMP: The ENTIRE dump is aborted.
I've also tried:
mustang:~# dump -0u -b 10 -d 62500 -f /dev/st0 -L backup\0 -s 301292 /
DUMP: Date of this level 0 dump: Mon Jan 17 21:52:18 2000
DUMP: Date of last level 0 dump: the epoch
DUMP: Dumping /dev/sda8 (/) to /dev/st0
DUMP: Label: backup0
DUMP: mapping (Pass I) [regular files]
DUMP: mapping (Pass II) [directories]
DUMP: estimated 802274 tape blocks on 0.02 tape(s).
DUMP: Volume 1 started at: Mon Jan 17 21:52:31 2000
DUMP: dumping (Pass III) [directories]
DUMP: dumping (Pass IV) [regular files]
DUMP: 43.97% done, finished in 0:06
DUMP: write error 383130 blocks into volume 1
DUMP: Do you want to restart?: ("yes" or "no") no
DUMP: The ENTIRE dump is aborted.
Anyone know what the problem is? I'm hoping it's in the set of
command/options I'm using as I've tried two different tapes, one of
which is brand new. This drive worked under AlphaNT just fine a few
years ago (last time I used it.)

TIA,
Ron
