Warning upon boot - incorrect kernel

Subject: Warning upon boot - incorrect kernel

Every time I boot up my Alpha, I get these warnings(from
var/log/messages):

Jan 6 09:19:42 nti15 depmod: can't open /lib/modules/2.2.12/modules.dep
Jan 6 09:19:42 nti15 rc.sysinit: Finding module dependencies failed

also this msg:
Warning: /boot/System.map has an incorrect kernel version.

Indeed there's only /lib/modules/2.2.5-16 on the system, no 2.2.12.

Could it be caused by fact that I used boot image from a wrong version
when
I installed REdhat6.0 (Hedwig). My uname -a produces 2.2.12

Can I like, replace some files, to get rid of this warning?

thank you,
azman
