Subject: Busted(?) proftpd

I've been working with proftpd 1.2.0pre[2-6] and they seem to have some odd
problem on RedHat machines. Once the user gets to the daemon and begins to
auth proftpd takes over the cpu and begins to eat all the ram on the
machine... the box starts to swap and then it eats all the swap causing
OOM, thus death to my once happy system.
Has anyone seen something like this? If so, what dumb thing did I do
wrong? I'm sure I missed some small configuration item.
Thanks,
-Barrett
