A simpler solution:
Get a new internal SCSI cable that is long enough to reach your current
internal drives and end up at the back of your case.
There are adaptors made that plug into a drive connector, and allow
external connection.
Then you can hook up your external devices at the end of the existing
internal SCSI cable.
A cable and adaptor like this will run you about $40 to $50 depending on
the number of connectors needed, etc.
You _will_ need an external terminator to put on the external connector
when you don't have drives attached there, as well.
