Dear All,

Consider a situation where two ethernet card drivers of different
manufacture (in this case, the DEC tulip and a 3Com 3C905) are compiled as
modules and then inserted at a later time into the kernel.

How do these devices get an entry in the /dev folder and what decides the
name of the device? (and for that matter how does any device get an entry in
the /dev folder?)
