        Sorry i took so long to get back to you on this. Busy weekend :)
        It's dying now on compiling one of the Parallel port IDE drivers, on
a define called 'w0' and 'w2' which are defined to be outb's in the paride
header file. The actual error message is:

aten.c:43: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type

And there's one for each w0() and w2(). These defines also make use of a
struct that is defined in block/paride/paride.h, but it looks fine to me. i
feel like i'm missing something really simple.

ps - are the parallel IDE drivers maintained? Does anyone use them?
