Let's not forget that "it works on Intel" is NOT equal to "It works on Alpha".
Case in point: We just finished modifying the drivers for the Rocketport
serial multiport cards to work on Alpha. For years they were just dandy on
X86 boxes, with probably half the Linux and FreeBSD ISPs in the universe
using them for dialup servers. Alpha was another story.
Fortunately with the source, and the skills of some interested people it
got ported to Alpha.
