I finally installed RH6.0 on my Alpha 2100 5/300 128MB ram. This is an
older Alpha Server circa 1993 that was a 4/200. The only way to do it was
to do an install via FTP as it was the only way I could get it to recognize
my network card (built 10MB Tulip adapter). If I did a CD install, the
network setup would not recognize the Tulip adapter or any adapter for that
matter. Any thoughts?
I do have some strange behavior at the console. I get the following
displayed randomly:
+ 290 0000000000000 0000000000000
+ 270 0000000000000 0000000000000
When I look at /var/log/messages I get these:
Nov 29 11:49:29 linuxaxp kernel: + 230 0000000001000000
4f20007fe4020073
Nov 29 11:49:29 linuxaxp kernel: + 240 0f20007fe4020073
0000000000000000
Nov 29 11:49:29 linuxaxp kernel: + 250 004b8141004b8141
0000000000000000
Nov 29 11:49:29 linuxaxp kernel: + 260 0000000000000000

Nov 29 11:49:29 linuxaxp kernel: + 280 0000000000000000
0000000000000000
Nov 29 11:49:29 linuxaxp kernel: + 290 0000000000000000
0000000000000000
I tried to apply the kernel updates but eth0 stops working after the update.
The video card is a Diamond Stealth 3D 2000. X does not run quite right. I
get a startup but the mouse cursor appears as a big block.
Thanks in advance!
