Actually, both milo and aboot have/had problems with
a) 4K block sizes b) new (2.2 kernel) fs features such as sparse
superblocks/filetypes. If you make the /boot partition with
mke2fs -O none it should read it OK.
I believe the aboot in Raw Hide is fixed so that it can deal with these.
