Very intersting read ! I'm depressed by the poor egcs performance. Does anybody
knows if gcc 2.95.4 is any better ?
The article would be enough to make me switch, but I use very template-intensive C++
code to perform numerical computations. Does anybody knows how ISO compliant
CCC is ? ( template member functions, partial specialisation ?)
http://www.boost.org/status/cs-tru64.html and http://www.oonumerics.org/blitz/platforms/
seems pretty good, so if I think I will go ahead. But template and inlining are different
kind of optimizations from fpu managment so I was wondering if it would still be woth it.
Thanks in advance,
Bernard

This is a link to a review, comparing Athlon to Alpha. Interesting. I
forget if this has been posted before. Still a good read if you didn't
catch it before.

Makes a good point about the Compaq CC compiler.
