IIRC the difference between the xx40 and xx42 is the floppy disk
controller, the scsi part beeing the same. I think I remember that once
you disable the floppy controller, the card gets detected as a 1740A.
So this is more or less a cosmetic thing, than anything to bother.

Well maybe just turning the card on its ISA side might do the
trick to work with srm 2.2. I myself never tried this, but the old
how-tos/docs hint at this beeing an option. The speed difference between
the jensens throttled EISA (25 MB/sec) and ISA (max around 8 MB/sec) is
not that big. (And you will probably find the jensen slow anyway;))
