Thanks to all who replied. The problem was my version of modutils. I
grabbed 2.4.3 and compiled it, installed it and everythings seems to have
worked fine. I need to check on sound and midi modules, but they are not
the priority. BTW, 2.4.3 asks that /etc/conf.modules be removed (so I took
out the link that I had created). Thanks for your help.
