I tried the SVGA server that came with 7.0. It starts up and doesnt
freeze though when I move windows they leave artifacts behind and dont
refresh. Also some things best described as "black boxes" appeared when
X first started. I didnt try the rawhide version of 3.3.6 . 3.3.6 as
never worked properly with my voodoo , even on 6.2.
