Subject: problem compiling ipmasqadm

hey all: i am trying to set up a webserver behind my ipchains/masq/nat box,
a udb.
following the ip-masqerading howto, i read that need to compile and install
ipmasqadm.
i have already compiled a 2.2.13 (installed sources) kernel with the
ipportfw and such set to yes
and i am running that kernel.

i have dld'd and uncompressed and installed both ipmaqsadm-0.4.2.tar.gz and
ipmasqadm-0.4.2-2.glibc2.tar.gz
i get errors when i try to compile.
the readme is sparse, and the FAQ is more on usage.
http://juanjox.kernelnotes.org/

all searches other have been useless.

more specificaly,
make KSRC=/usr/src/linux
.
.
.
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/ipmasqadm-0.4.2/ipmasqadm'
gcc -Wall -O2 -I
/usr/src/linux/include -I../include -fPIC -DLIBDIR=\"/usr/lib
/ipmasqadm\" -L../lib ipmasqadm.c -ldl -lip_masq -o ipmasqadm
ipmasqadm.c: In function `main':
ipmasqadm.c:47: warning: type mismatch in implicit declaration for built-in
func
tion `strlen'
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/ipmasqadm-0.4.2/ipmasqadm'

from Juan Carlos's pages....(?does he use intel?)
My current working kernel (4-Oct-1999), compiled with egcs-1.1.2
egcs -fno-gcse -mpentium -O2 ...
is the sum of:
Stock Linux 2.2.12
Alan Cox's patch-2.2.13pre14.bz2
My ip_masq-v0.25-for_2.2.13pre14.patch.gz

does this mean that i need to apply an unofficial parth to make this work?
when i tried to get it and the previous patch, they looked like garbage.

any ideas? i am sure that someone is using ipmasqadm on an alpha....

HELP!

TIA
