I have a new install of RHv5.2 on an AS200 (Avanti with 32MB RAM & standard
#9 card) and whenever I run startx after about 2-3 minutes of working in the
GUI my system locks up. The only thing that seems to work is the mouse but
nothing under it is clickable. At this point I cannot even ping the box.
Then my only option is to do a hard boot!
My suspicion is that it is memory related. Some upper part of memory is
shot and only when it is being used with a GUI interface does the problem
rear it's ugly head.
Question; How can I test the memory from text mode to see if I need new RAM
chip(s) or that I should start looking for other possible errors (config or
hardware)?
