        I make it a general habit to never touch anything in /proc. I know
it is reasonably well secure by the kernel guys, but I would rather not
be 'fondling' my main memory images and cpu states...

        This does not mean that I do not cat, more or less the files in
said directory for info purposes. I just never try to do anything else
there.
