Do keep in mind my comment on NFS V3. Without it,
you won't be able to see those big files using NFS V2.
I have around 100GB of NFS'd disk space on my systems
and it is a pain that Linux can't see the large files.
Someone a while back said NFS V3 would work if you got
the proper patches but I never did find them.

Also, watch out for various file utilities that do not
correctly handle such large files. Last time I looked,
rcp would cause major trouble against a large file,
probably due to some structure it was linked with not
being updated. If you're seriously considering Linux
for this, it seems prudent to wait for a distribution
built against a 2.2 kernel and headers. That way, all
the utilities will have the correct headers in their build.
