2.2.16 Alpha, exceptions, de4x5?

Subject: 2.2.16 Alpha, exceptions, de4x5?

I've been trying to compile 2.2.16 on my AlphaStation 200, and have finally
gotten the kernel to compile and load without errors.

Now, however, de4x5 doesn't want to see the active 10BaseT connection at
all. I get a continous "eth0: no link beat found".

I've tried forcing it with an ifconfig eth0 mode 10BaseT - that gets a
"mode not supported." Same goes for ifconfig eth0 media TP, ifconfig eth0
mode TP, etc., using the commentary in the de4x5 module source.

Any ideas?
