Actually, I've never had KDE hang on my systems. I use my
XP1000 mostly though so it is specific to that system. I
set /etc/sysconfig/desktop to "kde" and it just works. My
apps are typically lesstif based and I use the KDE xterm,
whatever it's called, instead of the standard xterm. Only
thing I see is occasionally my display apps will segfault
but I doubt it's KDE doing that. (my own bug I haven't found
yet, trashing an Xlib call's memory)
