I have yet to try those contrib rpms but from source it works fine.
Also I'm using openssl 0.9.5 with RSAref

After it's first http:// connection or it's first https:// connection?

Oh yes it works but you do have to patch RSAref slightly to work on
alpha.

That is what we're using.

future www.alphalinux.org:
openssl 0.9.5 with RSAref
mod_ssl-2.6.2-1.3.12
Apache/1.3.12
php-3.0.15
MySQL-3.22.32
All built with ccc and cxx.
there's a good apache/ssl howto on devshed.

the patch for rsaref is described here.

I have a openssl-0.9.5a rpm compiled with RSAref here
ftp://ftp.alphalinux.org/crypto-us_only/ though I have yet to
get openssh-2.x to work with it and i'm using ccc. It DOES pass the tests
though.
I've been meaning to put together a set of rpms for a secure
web/php/sql server. Seeing that there's an interest I'll try to put
something together by the end of the week.
