Consider yourself an authority. :-) Although various application
attributes will be scattered in other files. For example,
your gnome-terminal settings are stored in (surprise, surprise)
~/.gnome/Terminal. If ~/.gnome/session is missing it will be recreated
from /usr/share/gnome/default.session and this is a text file with
a pretty obvious content.
