In my (humble) opinion SuSE and RedHat are fairly similar. The
major downside with SuSE is they do not supply iso-images on the
net. (Well they have something they call evaluation-imgages for any
plattform except alpha.) So you will probably have to buy the Suse whilst
the RedHat is downloadable for free (as an iso-image). The Suse comes with
a nice manual which addresses a lot of newbie issues (But usually
contains quirks).
