2.4.0 kernel compile?

Has anyone managed to get the 2.4.0 kernel to compile without an
ALPHA_FP_EMU failure? I'm consistently crashing at the char portion,
but it's not quite consistent as to the failure. It started with a
"newline/EOF" problem, but after I'd looked at tty_io.c, it didn't do
it again. Now it just core dumps with the FP error.

Very odd.
