Hi,
I have been given a Compaq Alpha xp1000 (CYPRESS 82C693) to install the
Red Hat Alpha 6.1 on. I have read the instructions which came with the CD
[from Red Hat], and I am uable to get the box to run through the
instalation process. If any one could give me an idea of what I might be
doing wrong I would realy appreaciate it. Sorry if this is not the forum
for such a question....
When I try to boot from the floppy [I got the image from the CD]:
boot dva0 -fi vmlinux.gz -fl "root=/dev/dka0 expert text"
I get the following message:
resetting all I/O buses
(boot dva0.0.0.0.0 -file vmlinux.gz -flags root=/dev/dk0 expert text)
block 0 of dva0.0.0.0.0
bootstrap code read in

I don't know if I needed a "disklable", but there were no ref's to needing
one in the litrature
Thanks for any help!
Alec
