I am running 2.2.13 with the ide patches applied, as tweaked with hdparm
as I can:

hdparm -c1d1m16X34u1k1K1 /dev/hda

On an IBM 15gig (U)DMA hard drive. Here are some common results for
hdparm -vTt /dev/hda:

/dev/hda:
 multcount = 16 (on)
 I/O support = 1 (32-bit)
 unmaskirq = 1 (on)
 using_dma = 1 (on)
 keepsettings = 1 (on)
 nowerr = 0 (off)
 readonly = 0 (off)
 readahead = 8 (on)
 geometry = 29795/16/63, sectors = 30033360, start = 0
 Timing buffer-cache reads: 128 MB in 1.58 seconds =80.83 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads: 64 MB in 7.97 seconds = 8.03 MB/sec

Not a speed deamon by any means, but it sure beats the 1.5 MB/sec I was
getting before I discovered the ide patch and hdparm.
