And I wonder if anyone else has had success with compiling 2.3.39 for an
alpha, preferably without any patches?

I have yet to be able to compile any 2.3.* for my UDB/Multia 'out of the
box' and I wonder if a UDB is such a special beast? Slow and insignifi-
cant I know, but its all I have :-)

Attempting 2.3.39 the following is what I get from doing 'make boot', which
is preceeded with 'make dep clean' after configuring.

The system is a RH5.2 upgraded to 6.0 and 2.2.14 compiled and runs OK, if
that matters.

Thanks for your time,

Peter
