If you do not require boot support (i.e. the disks on the 53c875 will be
data disks), then SRM support is not necessary. Once the OS loads, it will
pick up the controller regardless of whether the SRM had recognized it. One
thing to consider is that the device driver (itpsa) under Tru64 that
controls all Symbios chips 875 and later (i.e. 875,895,896,1010) will only
work with adapters licensed explicitly by IntraServer or Compaq. If the
adapter is 875 based and is not seen as licensed by the driver, then we will
pass control off to the psiop driver (the one that controls the 810 SCSI-2
chip), and the psiop driver will run the 875 as if it was an 810 (i.e. at
SCSI-II speeds, not Ultra SCSI speeds).
