More and more people are doing this. RedHat really needs to either document
that thing better, or provide a "Desktop Reset" script to fix broken desktops.
The easy way:
log out (as you), and switch to a text console (no windows!... use
<ctl>-<alt>-F3 to get a VC.
from there (in your home directory) execute the following:
rm -rf .enl*
rm -rf .gnome*
rm -rf Desktop
switch back to the Graphics login (<ctl>-<alt>-F7), and log in as
usual. You will see a brand new, "default" set up.
