I have an Old XL 590 (upgraded to 120).
I have been playing with the idea of the upgrade card as well.
The problem they where fairly expensive as far as I can remember 1200 Euro
($)
My recommendation : Get an Alpha Mother Board and assemble it will be much
cheaper.
