Same thing here with an SX164, 128MB RAM. I tried to strace the whole thing and
at some point it failed in locating as, searching for it in the egcs directory
instead of in /bin or /usr/bin etc. Since this is a part of binutils, this
could be a binutils problem. I have version 2.9.1.0.25 installed. I actually
haven't tried with an older or newer version yet. If anything changes I'll
repost...
