I just got a chance to test this on our 4CPU/4GB ES40 (EV67/667s). Both 2.3.41 and .42 hang right after the "Freeing unused kernel
memory" message, where we unlock_kernel() and then open the console. The system _is_ trying to use a serial console - could that be
it? Further details as/if I find them.
