I was reading on the alpha FreeBSD list (or one of the other BSD lists I not
subscribed to them at work) about a guy with your system that had the same
problem. I don't remember the specifics
but the fix was to switch from ARC to a older SRM and then upgrade that SRM
to the current rev.
When I get home I'll find the thread and send it to you.
