Hi Graeme!

OK, there we go! SCSI timeouts indicate hardware problems. (At least to
my knowledge...if anybody knows better, please do not hesitate to
let me know?) First thing to check: are all SCSI cables functional and
tightly connected. Next thing to check are the jumpers. Is the new disk
the last one on the cable? Is it properly terminated? Are all devices
except the one's at the cables ends properly terminated? (You probably
checked these things allready, just to be sure...)

Is this one also a wide SCSI disk and did you use the same wide-to-narrow
adapter?

Good luck
