Gang,

Why buy Alpha now that Intel P-700's are out? I know that in the past
Alhpa-based systems were faster than their Intel-based counterparts but
I'm not so sure this is the case anymore. Since Compaq bought out DEC,
R&D on the Alpha has slowed to a crawl. This is allowing Intel to
catchup and surpass Alphas based on on CPU speed and price (i.e.
bang-for-the-buck).
