I have done this with RedHat 6.0. It worked straight out of the install.
After the installation was complete, I used:
insmod parport
insmod ppa
mount -t ext2 /dev/sdb1 /mnt/zip
Of course, where your dev is will depend on how many SCSI devices you have
and if you've repartitioned the Zip drive off the damned 4th partition.
