A couple of things you might verify in your kernel config (normally
/usr/src/linux/.config) are:
1) whether you're using the ncr53c8xx driver, or the sym53c8xx
driver. While the "ncr" driver will work for an 895 based
card, the "sym" driver should give better performance
2) make sure you answer "no" to the config option "assume
boards are SYMBIOS compatible".
