If you want/need to update your kernel use on of the latest 2.2.17pre..
kernels as 2.2.16 was rushed to cover security problems and it has
a number of "features".
"2.2.16-xxx" distributed by Red Hat in rpm format is heavily patched
(also by some things which will NOT show up in "official" kernels from
2.2 series). What do you want/need I have no idea.
