I didn't really notice the size of X increasing.. just
chewing away CPU time. An it didn't really help even
when I restarted X. The only way to get around it was
to reboot... but after a few days, the symptoms came
back. 2.2.7 doesn't seem to have this problem.

Thanks for the suggestions though.. perhaps I'll try
to take a closer look.. to be sure.
