FWIW, I wasn't getting OOM errors, I was just getting segfaults. I applied
this patch anyway, and have not seen them since, and I've tried brutalizing
the system by running huge CVS pulls (which is about the most painful network
thing I can think of short of writing a specific program) while simultaneously
building a kernel and running rc5des, all while doing random things under X.
Nothing died, and I got no OOM, so either I had a weird problem before or this
fixed it. I guess this bodes well for 2.2.12.
Just thought I'd let everyone know, and thank Michal for sending along the
patch.
