Hi,
Thanks for responding. This problem is driving me crazy. Here is the info
you wanted.
The nsswitch.conf reads:
hosts: files nisplus nis dns
resolv.conf reads:
domain stanford.edu
search stanford.edu
nameserver 171.64.7.55
nameserver 171.64.7.77
nameserver 171.64.7.99
I have two ethernet cards installed. This might be one of the
problems. The built-in ethernet card is a Davicom 9102. I am using tulip
on this one. I compiled a driver for the card on the system(dmfe), but it
doesn't show up in the options for netcfg. This is listed as eth1.
The other card is a NetGear. I am using the tulip driver for that as
well. It is eth0.
I am running kernel 2.2.14-5.0 (Redhat 6.2).
I have the ethernet cable plugged into the NetGear card, and running
ifconfig gives the following output:
eth0: Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr: 00:A0:CC:58:FC:B3
inet addr: 171.66.13.44 Bcast:171.66.255.255 Mask:255.255.0.0

Thanks.
