I compiled GIMP 1.0.4 on my UDB, the compilation went without any problems,
but there seems to be some problem with image quality. When GIMP displays a
file (no matter whether GIF, JPEG, RGB, etc.), it seems to add some "noise"
into it, so even on a single colour area there would be a white pixel here
and there. The quality of the image is definitely worse compared to viewing
the same file with xv. When I save a file from GIMP and then view it with
xv, however, it's allright, so the problem seems to affect only viewing in
GIMP. When I click on the View menu and choose the Window info, the last
field of it says "Using gdkrgb - we'll come back to you". I don't know
whether this is related to the image quality problem, and whether the
latter itself is alpha specific; I would be grateful for any suggestions.
Thanks,
Roman Martonak.
