I find the same - am using OSS/AlphaLinux 3.9.2f, with 2.2.4, RH5.2, LX164
Found that a kernel compile will show up the prob as a Sig 11 pretty
quickly since OSS or something is trashing ram. Will compile with no
probs if I don't play anything through mpg123 or KDE media player.
Would you know if cat xx.au > /dev/audio works any different to
applications like mpg123 etc? in terms of writing stuff to the sound card?
-- Dont think it's a CPU prob (overheating) runs fine for weeks but hates
mpg123 with a passion :)... How would I isolate between the sound driver
(oss prob) or a library prob (threads?)
Cheers,
Seppo.
