I have an LX164 board running 2.0.36 kernel with DHCP working fine. I went to alphalinux.org to get the DHCP daemon required for kernel 2.2.x and after I successfully compiled the kernel(2.2.6) and used rpm to upgrade the dhcp, I got messages saying "Unaligned trap at !$#%@#^ " and the dhcpd refused to work. So, I went back to the old kernel and found out the new DHCP won't work with the old kernel. I think if I use the old DHCP things will be ok again, but I wasnt the new kernel!!! I also another version of dhcpd is now available (2.0b1??) instead of version noted at alphalinux.org.
Does anyone have a similar situation? Please help!!!! Will the new dhcpd work now? I am going to try it this afternoon....
