Brett,
 Dutch guilders have been around longer than dollars. I think a banker would be more likely to stare at you for not knowing what a guilder is. It is true that in the USA, it is more expensive to deal with foreign currencies than in Holland. People in Holland do it a lot more and there is more relative competition for that business.
