Building a 2.2.x Kernel

Hi.

  I just fetched the sources of the 2.2.5 kernel and tried in a first
attempt to build it from the stock sources. Well after probing the
networkcard it hangs.

  My question(s) is(are):

  i) Do I need again axp-diffs? Where I could find them?
 ii) Do I need more as a stock RH5.2+errata?
iii) Which MILO do I need?
 iv) What is save to build as a module/kmod?
